Unique Group of Institutions and Punjab Cycling Association celebrate 79th Independence Day with grand cycle race.

Unique Group of Institutions and Punjab Cycling Association (PCA), Thursday organised a ceremony to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, featuring a flag-hoisting ceremony, cake cutting, and a high-profile cycle race.

The cycle race kicked off from Gaddafi Stadium and culminated at the Unique Group’s head office. Among the key participants riding in the event were Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir and Chairman of Unique Group, Prof Abdul Manan Khurram.

Addressing the gathering at the destination, Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir called for unity and civic responsibility to drive the country forward.

"To put Pakistan on the path of progress and success, we must play our role as one nation," the health minister stated. "Every individual needs to fulfill their duty for a brighter future and work collectively to project a positive image of Pakistan globally."

He noted that Independence Day serves as a moment of national renewal, urging citizens to move past shortcomings and focus on positive contributions. He also commended the institution for promoting cycling and sports, emphasising that engaging youth in healthy activities remains vital for community development.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Abdul Manan Khurram underscored that social stability and economic progress rely on equal opportunities and justice across all levels of society.

Highlighting the educational institution's philosophy, Prof Abdul Manan Khurram noted that providing a balance between academics and athletics helps cultivate discipline, teamwork, and resilience among students. He urged the youth to actively participate in sports to build tolerance and physical well-being.

The event was attended by senior management—including Unique Group Rector Prof Amjad Ali Khan, Vice Chairman Afif Ashraf Siddiqui, Academic Director Prof Waseem Anwar Chaudhry, and Admin Director Prof Muhammad Abdullah—alongside a large crowd of faculty members, students, and athletes.

The celebrations concluded with an official prize distribution ceremony honoring the winners of the cycle race.
